Chica's very first fiesta!
The sun slowly rises. I'm in charge of feeding today, which means I have to be in the stable earlier than usual. I go to Chica's box and give her a hug. She looks sleepily at me with her big eyes, and I thread my fingers through her mane and let her warm me up.

It's a very special day for Chica and me; today we're going to a fiesta! I spent all day yesterday grooming her until her coat shone, and her equipment is still hanging on her stall door. I still have my doubts whether Chica will be able to handle the pressure, but after a lot of consideration, I decide to go for it.
We manage to squeeze into the crowd, and continue along with the rest of the parade. I'm tense because I don't know how Chica will react to all the new things. We're right in the middle of the parade, but Chica just walks calmly. The streets are full of dancing Andalusian horses (P.R.E.) and stallions with their manes down to their knees, but despite this, there's no one who can compare with Chica.
We continue along the street, and a festive mood fills the air. We come to a small oasis of palm trees. We get off and horses and tie them to a big palm tree that offers nice shade. There's a big dish of paella, and everyone who wants to is welcome to taste the Spanish specialty. The horses don't seem to mind the hustle and bustle at all.

I smile to myself as I think of how much Chica and I have trained to get where we are today, and how hard I've worked to build her trust. But when you've won the trust of a horse, you can count on a friend for life - the best kind of friend there is!
