Chica chats with Aziel
Chica:Your Boss” is a very special, very wonderful human being. Who are you and your friends?

Aziel: Hi there! “Boss” is our big idol, and we do everything for him. He trains and plays with us every day – and our job is to travel around Europe and take part in shows with him. Our troupe is made up of the six of us horses plus Boss, and we are a very tight-knit team. Everywhere we go the crowds just gasp and shake their heads in astonishment and admiration when they see the things we can do. My friends and I are always “loose and free” when we perform, but even so we wouldn’t ever dream about running away from Boss. We always have such great fun together. And like everyone, we horses like to feel that we do an important job, and Boss always shows us how much he respects and loves us.

Chica:So, how did you end up at your Boss’s place?

Aziel: Boss bought my mother in a country called Portugal. Ha ha! – Nobody knew back then that I was already in her belly! A few months before I was born, Boss noticed that my mother’s behavior had changed slightly, but her stomach hadn’t grown one bit. It wasn’t until two months before I was born that he could tell that I was inside of her! Boss was thrilled when he discovered that I was a mare because he uses only girls in his shows.

My career started when I was a tiny little foal, only four months old. The team was going on tour, and of course I couldn’t be left home alone. In one of our show numbers Boss stands on two horses, with one leg on each horse’s back. But I was of course far too small to be stood on, so I had the brilliant idea to jump over some things lying around in the ring – and – wow – did the audience love me! I charmed them to bits – all of them!

Sometimes we go to the beach to do our training there. You can see for yourself in this photo! And then other people often ask Boss, ”Aren’t you worried that the horses will run away or get into trouble with other horses on the beach?” As if we would ever do such a thing! As I mentioned before – we’re a team, and we’re happiest sticking together. I think we live the best life a horse possibly can!
